Millersville, Pa. - The Millersville women's tennis team closed its fall schedule with a 9-0 sweep of Harford Community College Saturday afternoon at McComsey Tennis Courts.
The 9-0 win was Millersville's second sweep of the fall and it improved the squad to 2-3 overall. It was a convincing triumph for the Marauders as they surrendered only one game in three doubles matches, and no singles player lost more than two games in a match.
Melissa Plowman teamed with
Samantha Prager for an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles. Plowman won 6-1, 6-1 in singles, and Prager won 6-1, 6-0.
Elizabeth Wagner and
Kelsey Waite rolled to an 8-0 victory in the No. 2 doubles flight and both notched straight-set wins at No. 4 and No. 5 singles.
Shauna Powers and
Alexandra Heller won by an 8-1 score at No. 3 doubles, and the duo also won singles matches by scores of 6-1, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-1 respectively.
The teams of Plowman and Prager and Wagner and Waite finished the fall with 3-2 records. Waite posted the top singles record at 4-1.
