Millersville, Pa. - The Millersville men's cross country team finished strong in this morning's Marauder Alumni Open, taking eight of the top ten spots. The Open had a great turnout with 20 alumni forming a team to run against both the men's and women's teams.
The men's team finished all 15 of its members in the top 19 including eight in the top ten. James McBride, running his first cross country race since 2008 due to hip surgery, finished in first place with a time of 15:45. Also finishing in the top five for the men's team were Josh Foulds (16:15), Zach Kelchner (16:20), Jared Kneebone (16:23) and Chris Brandt (16:26).
The standout for the women's cross country team was Elicia Anderson who finished 18th with a time of 17:36. Anderson was the first member of the women's team to finish. Emily Francisco finished 1:18 back of Anderson in 24th place (18:54). Bekah Moore was 27th with a time of 19:19. Michelle Blum finished 29th with a time of 19:44. Brittany Arnold took 31st with a time of 19:51.
The alumni team placed two members in the top ten with six more finishing in the top 25. Adam Malloy ('09) finished in seventh with a time of 16:40. Following right behind Malloy for eighth place classmate Chris Ecker ('09) with a time of 16:47. Stephen Pizzuli ('05) was in 14th with a time of 17:03. Andrew Butler ('08) was in 20th with a time of 17:49. Rich Payne ('09) placed 22nd with a time of 18:22.
2009 All-American, Priscilla Jennings ('09) also competed for the alumni squad. She was the top women's alumni finisher, taking 23rd place with a time of 18:52.
Millersville's next event is the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 10 a.m.
