
Bernhardt Continues to Break Records at Swarthmore

Final Results
Swarthmore , Pa. – For the second time in as many meets, sophomore women's swimming standout Sarah Bernhardt broke her own school record to lead the Marauders at the Swarthmore Invitational. Saturday Bernhardt cracked her 100-yard freestyle time and set a new mark of 52.86 seconds while claiming top honors in the event.
The 200-yard medley relay, made up of Arielle Walbert, #Breann Martinez, Bernhardt and Rebecca Anderson claimed a third place finish, touching the wall in 1:55.14.
Bernhardt went on to win the 100-yard butterfly, touching the wall in 58.25 seconds. Bernhardt finished almost two seconds faster than the second place finisher. Amie Mowery finished in seventh with a time of 1:03.85, and Martinez swam a time of 1:04.97 for a 10th-place finish.
In the 400-yard individual medley, Walbert clocked in at 4:53.01 for a fourth place finish. Walbert continued her success in the 200 backstroke, notching a time of 2:17.58 to finish fourth.
Victoria DeTample tapped the wall in 2:05.65 to claim eighth place in the 200 freestyle, followed by Adriana Rodriguez in 12th with a season-best time of 2:07.10.
Samantha Strickler and Amanda Thomas finished 11th and 12th, respectively, in the 100 backstroke with times of 1:06.08 and 1:06.27. Sara Keenan followed in 1:09.33 for 16th place.
The 800 freestyle relay, comprised of DeTample, Walbert, Rodriguez and Thomas, finished in sixth place with a time of 8:39.11. Mowery landed ninth in the 200 breaststroke, clocking in at 2:37.81.
Notching a season-best time of 2:33.71, Colleen Wolgast finished 10th in the 200 butterfly. Rounding out the day's events, the 400 free relay of Mowery, Anderson, Thomas and Bernhardt finished in fifth place with a time of 3:46.92.
The Marauders finished fifth out of 11 teams with a total of 412 points.
Millersville hosts Elizabethtown on Thursday, Dec. 9 for its first home meet of the season. The team will be collecting toys in conjunction with Toys for Tots. Action is slated for 6 p.m.
