Shippensburg, Pa. –
The No. 1 Shippensburg field hockey team continued its unbeaten streak and its reign atop the PSAC West as the Lady Raiders defeated No. 10 Millersville 3-0 Thursday afternoon in a conference crossover contest. The Marauders are now 5-6 on the year while Shippensburg sits at 9-0.

The Millersville defense was put to the test immediately. The Lady Raiders registered a penalty corner just 59 seconds into action, and goalkeeper Sara Dickinson racked up two saves in less than three minutes.

Dickinson set aside a shot taken by Ship's Ashley Taylor, but Katie Pufnock was in position to collect the rebound and send it to the back of the cage to put the Lady Raiders up 1-0 with 10:01 showing on the clock.

Just under nine minutes later Emily Kohlbus sent a corner pass to Taylor. Taylor immediately sent the ball back to an open Kohlbus who put Shippensburg up by two heading into halftime.

The Lady Raiders registered their third and final goal of the game at 47:37 off of an unassisted shot by Bre White.

With 15 minutes on the clock, senior midfielder Jessica Cave found herself one-on-one with Shippensburg goalkeeper Carenna Neely in Millersville's second penalty stroke of the season. Cave's shot was right on target, but was set aside by Neely, securing the shutout for the Lady Raiders.

Shippensburg out-shot Millersville by a 19-5 margin.

Dickinson recorded 11 saves in the contest including nine in the first half.
