Marauder Swimmers Finish Dual Schedule with Loss to Kutztown

Kutztown, Pa. - Sarah Bernhardt took first place in two events, but the Millersville women's swimming team was defeated by Kutztown 149-105 Saturday, completing the team's dual schedule for the season.
Millersville rounded out its dual record at 3-3 with Saturday's loss. Kutztown took top honors in 10 of the 14 events. Bernhardt was Millersville's top performer, taking first place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.82, edging Jordan Shapiro by .14 seconds. She also grabbed first in the 100-yard butterfly with a PSAC-qualifying time of 1:01.09. Millersville finished one, two, three in the event, with Bre Martinez placing second and Amie Mowery taking third.
Kelsie Jones led a strong Millersville contingent in the 200-yard individual medley, out-racing teammate Arielle Walbert for first place with a time of 2:20.88.
Millersville's top 200-yard freestyle relay team also took first place. The team of Bernhardt, Mowery, Martinez and Sara Steinagel finished in a time of 1:44.
The Marauders will compete in the East Stroudsburg Invitational on Feb. 6 before preparing for the PSAC Championships.
