ABOUT THE GAMES
•    The Marauders moved into a tie for first place in the PSAC East by downing Cheyney 72-58 on Wednesday and Bloomsburg 67-49 on Saturday. They also got some help from Kutztown and Bloomsburg, as each squad knocked off West Chester.
•    Millersville is 38-20 versus East Stroudsburg, dating back to the 1922-23 season. The Black and Gold took all three meetings with the Warriors last season, including a 66-51 win in the PSAC Quarterfinals.
•    The Marauders swept both games with Mansfield last season, but the Mountaineers did manage to take 1-of-2 from Millersville in both the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons.  The Marauders have dominated the series though, winning 30 straight games from 1990-91 to 2005-06 and compiling a 49-3 record against their PSAC East foes from northern Pennsylvania since 1981-82.
•    Wednesday is Senior Night at Pucillo Gymnasium. Seniors Gladine St. Julien and Jenna Philo will be recognized between the women's and men's games.
•    Wednesday night is also the final BLACKOUT of the season. Fans are encouraged to wear black and Blackout t-shirts will be thrown out during the women's and men's games. Fans that come to the game with their face painted and dressed in black will receive a Millersville rally towel. Fans that show their Marauder spirit with face paint will also have an opportunity to win one of four gift certificates to the University Store.

ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
•    East Stroudsburg has won three of its last four, but is coming off of a tough 78-76 loss at Cheyney on Saturday.
•    The Warriors have not performed all that badly on the road this season. ESU is 5-6 away from home in 2008-09 and 2-3 on the road in PSAC East contests.
•    When the two teams met back on February 4, East Stroudsburg took Millersville to overtime, but fell short, 51-47.
•    Sitting at 12 wins, the Warriors have already matched their win total from a year ago. ESU finished 12-15 in 2007-08.
•    East Stroudsburg is led by senior forward Jackie Yandrisevits. Yandrisevits, a 2007-08 All-PSAC East First Team selection, is putting up 20.5 points per game and 8.7 rebounds per game, both team-high's. Her scoring average ranks her third in the conference, behind Brooque Williams of California (Pa.) and Lauren Beckley of Shippensburg.
•    Yandrisevits scored 29 points at Cheyney on Saturday to become East Stroudsburg's all-time leading scorer. The senior also grabbed 10 rebounds to go over the 700-rebound plateau in her career.
•    Junior forward DeAnna Rayam is second on the team in scoring at 10.3 points per game. On January 31, Rayam tied a PSAC record by going 6-of-6 from 3-point range in the contest.
•    Senior guard Keri Cahill is a floor general for the Warriors. Cahill is handing out more than four assists per game and is second on the team in steals with 42.
•    The Warriors have struggled with their offensive proficiency. They rank just 13th in the PSAC in scoring offense at 63 points per game and are in the lower half of the PSAC in most major offensive categories.
•    It's been a trying year for Mansfield, as the Mountaineers are just 7-18 on the season. The squad has had some high points recently, however. Mansfield has won three of its last six games, including major upsets over Kutztown (59-56) and Cheyney (83-73).
•    Trips away from Northern Pennsylvania have not been kind to Mansfield, as it has a record of 2-10 on the road this season. The Mountaineers only wins came against Houghton and Lock Haven.
•    Mansfield's youth driven squad has started to play like a more experienced bunch. The team has eight freshmen on the roster and five play over 10 minutes per game. The Mountaineers leading scorer, Mallory Moore (10.4 points per game), is also a rookie.
•    A Mansfield player has led the PSAC in 3-pointers made the last two seasons. In 2006-07 Mallory Hafer led the league with 75 and last season Alicia Espigh made a league-best 63. Surprisingly, both are back this season, but neither rank among the top 15 in the conference.
•    Moore is the only Mountaineer player averaging over 10 points per game. Mansfield ranks last in the PSAC in scoring offense at just 56.4 points per game and does not have an individual in the top 30 in PSAC scoring.
•    Millersville held Mansfield to just 26 points when the two teams met back on January 31. It was the lowest point total for Mansfield since the modern-day program was started in 1976
•    Mansfield is getting outscored by 11.7 points per game this season. The Mountaineers have lost three games by less than 10 points and 14 games by 10 points or more.

THE LAST TIME OUT
•    Millersville used a career-high 29 points from senior forward Gladine St. Julien to help record its 20th win of the season in a 67-49 victory over visiting Bloomsburg at Pucillo Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
•    The Marauders (20-5, 9-3 PSAC East) built a 15-7 lead by the 7:49 mark of the first half. St. Julien started her afternoon with six points in the early surge. Bloomsburg (10-15, 2-10 PSAC East) stayed close throughout the half behind the play of Lauren Healy and Monica Dennison.
•    Millersville struggled to build a double figure lead, as the first half featured a combined 33 turnovers (BU 17, MU 16). St. Julien, however, continued to impose her will against the Huskies' defenders. The fourth-year player from Leesport, Pa. scored four points in the final 1:40 of the first half and finished with 14 points at the break, as the Black and Gold staked a 34-24 halftime lead.
•    Following a Dennison bucket with 14:45 to play, the Marauders held Bloomsburg to just one basket over the next 6:31. Aiesha Bellamy, Monica Newman, Craig, and St. Julien all had a hand in extending the Marauder lead to 23, 62-39, with under five minutes remaining. BU continued to be plagued by costly turnovers. The Huskies committed 14 more in the second half, for a game total of 31.
•    St. Julien's 29 points eclipsed her previous career-high of 22, which she set on two separate occasions. She came within one point of scoring 30 for the first time since Danielle Marshall (31 points) accomplished the feat against Cheyney on January 28, 2006. The senior also hit a career-high 12 shots from the floor (12-of-16).
•    Despite the gaudy offensive numbers, St. Julien's defensive performance was one to write home about as well. She suffocated Bloomsburg's Colleen Kegerreis, a 2007-08 All-PSAC East First Team selection, allowing her to score just one point on the afternoon. In two games against BU this season, St. Julien held Kegerreis, who is averaging over 15 points per game, to just seven total points (3.5 per game).
•    Outside of St. Julien's career day, the Marauders got balanced scoring and rebounding. Ashley Moyer scored eight points, while Craig and Jenna Philo chipped in with seven apiece. Craig and freshman Gabrielle Styles led the way on the boards, grabbing seven each. With the win, Millersville eclipsed the 20 win mark for the second consecutive season. MU has now won 20 or more games in eight of Mary Fleig's 19 seasons at the university. The Marauders held an opponent under 50 points for the 13th time this season.

THE 700 CLUB
•    Millersville's women's basketball program began in 1918 and since then, it has compiled 703 wins. Win number 700 came in a 69-44 defeat of Shippensburg on February 11, 2009. Under head coach Mary Fleig, the Marauders have compiled almost half of those victories with 343.
•    Mary Fleig coached her 700th career NCAA basketball game on Wednesday, February 4, at East Stroudsburg. The Marauders picked up a 51-47 overtime win in the milestone game for the veteran coach. Fleig is in her 26th season on the sidelines. In 19 seasons at Millersville, Fleig has recorded 343 victories. Her career coaching record is an impressive 465-240 and ranks her among the top 10 winningest coaches in NCAA Division II history.

STARTING STRONG
•    Millersville's 11-2 non-conference record marked its best start to a season since 2000-01, when the Marauders started 13-2. The 2000-01 squad finished with a 21-6 record, but fell in the PSAC Quarterfinals to West Chester.

CHARITY TROUBLES
•    Millersville is looking to change its fortunes at the charity stripe this season. The Marauders rank last in the PSAC in free throw percentage at .620 (361-for-582). In 2007-08, Millersville finished seventh in the conference, shooting close to 70-percent.

WORKING OVERTIME
•    Millersville went to overtime in back-to-back games versus East Stroudsburg on Feb. 4, and West Chester on Feb. 7. It marked the first time the Marauders have played in consecutive overtime games since taking Cheyney and Kutztown to the extra session during the 1989-90 season.
•    The Marauders made a bit of school history when their game with West Chester went to overtime on February 7. Millersville had never gone to overtime twice in one season with one opponent. The Marauders and Golden Rams went to overtime in the PSAC East opener back on Jan. 14. West Chester emerged victorious in both overtime contests in 2009.

HIT THE BOARDS
•    Forward Jenna Craig has been a rebounding force for the Maruaders this season. The Lewistown, Pa. native has collected 10+ rebounds in six of her last ten games. Craig grabbed a career-high 16 boards in the Marauders double overtime loss to West Chester on Feb. 7. The junior is averaging 9.8 rebounds per game this season and has 13 double-figure rebound games.

RETURN TO SENDER
•    The Marauders blocked a season-high eight shots against Cheyney on Jan. 28. The last time Millersville blocked eight shots or more was Feb. 22, 2006, when the Black and Gold swatted 10 Kutztown attempts away.
•    Senior Gladine St. Julien recorded five blocks against Mansfield on Jan. 31. St. Julien became the second MU player to record five blocks in a game this season. Gretchen Fricko ('96) holds the record for blocks in a game with 10 (12/7/95 vs. SUNY-Stony Brook).

HOW LOW CAN THEY GO?
•    Millersville allowed just 26 points in its win over Mansfield on Jan. 31, marking the fewest points the school has given up in a game since 1979-80. That season, Lynda Humphreville's squad held Lebanon Valley to just 17 points in a 75-17 win.
•    The fewest points allowed in the Mary Fleig era, prior to Jan. 31, was 28 against Cheyney back in 1992-93 (94-28).

LOFTY EXPECTATIONS
•    After posting a 24-6 overall record and a perfect 12-0 mark in the PSAC East a year ago, MU was pegged to finish second in the PSAC East this season in the preseason coaches poll.
•    Shippensburg, a newcomer to the PSAC Eastern Division, was picked to finish at the top of the division in 2008. West Chester, who qualified for the PSAC playoffs last season as the second seed, finished the season at 9-3 in the division and is picked to finish one spot behind Millersville in third.  Kutztown, who won just four games in the division last year, is picked fourth, while East Stroudsburg is fifth.
•    Forward Gladine St. Julien, an All-PSAC Eastern Division First Team selection last season, was named to the 2008 Preseason All-PSAC East Team.

POWER FORWARD
•    Forward Gladine St. Julien stepped up in a huge way last season after the loss of Preseason All-PSAC selection Ashley Romanoski due to injury.  St. Julien led the Marauders in scoring average (12.5) and was second on the team in rebounding, averaging 6.7 rebounds per game.
•    The 6-0 forward scored in double figures in 21 of the team's 30 games last season and managed four double-doubles.  St. Julien led MU in scoring 13 times and rebounding 11 times.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME
•    Since Millersville began playing its home games in Pucillo Gymnasium in 1982, the Marauders are an impressive 258-78 at home in 26 seasons.  The team has never won less than seven games at Pucillo in a single season and has never had a losing record.  Millersville has recorded three losses or fewer at home in 18 of 26 seasons at Pucillo, including a stretch of seven straight seasons from 1996 to 2002. MU is currently 9-2 at home in 2008-09.

WHO NEEDS SPRING BREAK?
•    Extending the season into March is becoming commonplace at Millersville. In 2007-08, the Marauders earned their 12th straight appearance in the PSAC Tournament and seventh consecutive appearance in the conference semifinals.
•    Despite falling in the PSAC Tournament semifinals to California (Pa.), the Marauders entered the NCAA Division II Tournament as the No. 7 seed in the East Region.  Despite leading with under eight minutes to play in the opening-round contest, the Marauders eventually fell for the third time on the season to California (Pa.) to end their season.
•    The Marauders have appeared in the NCAA Tournament five times under the direction of Fleig and have posted a 2-5 record in those appearances.  Millersville defeated Pitt-Johnstown, 75-71 to advance to the regional semifinal in 1999 and the 2002 team knocked off Belmont Abbey, 84-60 to advance for the only two victories.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
•    Millersville has compiled a 109-66 record in the month of January since 1990-91. The Marauders own a winning percentage of .623 in the month. The only month the Marauders have performed better in is November (45-22, .672). MU has only had three losing records in the month of January in the 19 season time span. This January the Marauders finished 7-3.

RECORD BREAKERS
•    In the season-opening 101-30 victory over Columbia Union, the Marauders eclipsed the 100-point mark for the first time since the 1999-2000 season.  In that season the Marauders ironically knocked off the same team (Columbia Union) by a score of 102-52.
•    The 101-point effort was helped in large part to the 60 first-half points scored by the Marauders which broke the school record of 54 set by the 1992-93 team in a lopsided win over Holy Family.
•    The 71-point margin of victory also broke the school record set  by the 1992-93 team that defeated Cheyney by a final score of 94-28.

DEFENSIVE REIGN
•    Millersville allowed only 42 points against Indiana (Pa.) on Jan. 3, 2009, marking the lowest point total by IUP since 2004.
•     Millersville has now held its opponents to less than 50 points in 13-of-25 games this season. MU allowed just 49 points in its rout of Bloomsburg on Saturday afternoon. The Marauders have held PSAC East foes under 50 points on four separate occasions this season. In 2007-08 they accomplished the feat five times in conference games.

TWICE AS NICE
•     Millersville has put an even greater scoring lockdown on two opponents this season, holding each to just 30 points, a feat never before accomplished by a Marauder team under coach Fleig.
•     The Marauders opened the season in convincing fashion by downing Columbia Union 101-30. On Nov. 19, just four days later, Millersville pulled the feat off once again, this time in a 69-30 victory over Goldey-Beacom. In the win, the Marauders held the Lightning to just two second-half field goals.
