East Stroudsburg Denies Marauders

Millersville, Pa. - The Millersville wrestling team managed just three wins, and East Stroudsburg came away with a 27-9 victory over the homestanding Marauders.
Millersville dropped to 8-7 overall with the loss while East Stroudsburg improved to 5-12.
Desmond Moore at 125 pounds, #J.J. Lester at 157 and Jeremy Brooks# at 165 were the lone Marauders to pick up wins.
Moore led late in the third period, but David Luthy scored a takedown with just under 30 seconds left to tie the bout at 3-3. Moore, though, picked up one point on an escape just before the third period buzzer to win 4-3.
Lester controlled his match with Ken Monarque throughout, leading 8-3 late and hanging on for the 8-5 decision.
Brooks followed Lester with a tight 3-1 decision over Thad Frick. For Brooks, it was his 26th victory of the season.
174-pound Shane Smith's bid to become just the 21st wrestler in school history to win 30 matches in a season was denied by Jeff Jacob's, who upset Smith 9-3. Smith fell to 29-11 on the season following the loss.
The Marauders return to action on Friday at Delaware Valley.
