
Millersville Swimming Falls to 5-2 After Loss to East Stroudsburg

Millersville University's swim team lost its second straight dual meet of the season Saturday to East Stroudsburg by a score of 117.5-144.5. Without a win in 2009, the team's record falls to 5-2.
Both Millersville's losses were at the hands of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) rivals and came after a month-long holiday break layoff.
Against the East Stroudsburg Warriors, the Marauders started strong, winning the second, third and fourth events, but the team wasn't able to get back on track and capture a first place finish again until the 12th event.
Senior Kara Rapp, a freestyle specialist, got the first of Millersville's top finishes in the 1,000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:50.32, and she won again two events later with a time of 31.08 in the 50-yard backstroke.
In the third event, Freshman Amie Mowery earned a first-place finish in the 200 yard freestyle, posting a time of 2:04.68.
Freshman Breann Martinez captured first place in 50 yard butterfly with a time of 28.22.
The Marauders will have two weeks to regroup before its next dual meet against their next PSAC rival, Kutztown University. The Golden Bears are 8-2 on the season.
