Hall of Fame
One of only two three-time All-PSAC East First Team selections in Marauder volleyball history, Jennie Rohrbaugh Bonitz was an offensive and defensive playmaker. She set the Millersville career record for digs with 1,944 and held it for a decade and still ranks 13th in PSAC history. She finished her career ranked second in all-time in kills with 1,208.
Beginning in her sophomore season of 2004, Bonitz ranked first or second on the team in digs and kills each season—a rare feat for an outside hitter. She compiled 326 kills and 520 digs as a sophomore and scored All-PSAC East First Team recognition for the first time. Her dig totals ranked third in program history at the time. She followed that performance in 2005 by ranking second on the team in kills (349) and leading the team in digs (462).
Bonitz’s third consecutive All-PSAC East First Team performance was highlighted by 714 digs, which still ranks second-most ever, and her 353 kills came in at sixth on the all-time Marauder list.
A PSAC Scholar-Athlete throughout her Marauder career, Bonitz graduated with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and is currently a chemistry teacher at Susquehannock High School. She also serves as coach of Yorktowne Volleyball Club. Â
Jennie and her husband, Tim, are the parents of a son: Christian.
