One of Millersville's first great woman athletes, Janet Thomson Keiser was a four-year letterwinner in field hockey and basketball in the late '40s and early '50s.

Keiser scored 41 career points in field hockey--an impressive total at a time when no more than seven matches were played in any season. She was a member of the first undefeated and untied field hockey squad in Marauder history (6-0 record in 1950).

During her undergraduate days, Keiser represented Millersville in central Pennsylvania, Middle Atlantic region and U.S. national field hockey tournaments.

Following graduation, Keiser served as a field hockey coach at Upper Moreland High School and also was an intramural basketball and volleyball instructor.

A retired teacher, Keiser was employed by the U.S. Department of Defense Overseas Dependents Schools.

In her hometown of Cape May Point, N.J., Keiser is active in the community's taxpayers association and environmental commission, and served as publicity chairperson for the Cape May Point Civic Club.
