Coleen Sieg Mrakovich was the lynchpin, facilitator and leader of Millersville's 1985 PSAC Championship and NCAA Division III runner-up field hockey team. She is the fourth member of that historic team to be inducted into the hall of fame, but according to her teammates, Millersville would have never reached the NCAA title game without her talents in the middle of the field.
Mrakovich was also the team captain of the 1986 squad that won the PSAC Championship for a second consecutive season. The consummate winner, Mrakovich's teams played in three-straight PSAC Tournaments, winning of two, and reached the NCAA Division III Tournament three years in a row. The 1985 club totaled 17 victories which still stand as a school record.
Mrakovich played the role of unsung hero to perfection. She led Millersville in assists in 1984. In 1985, she landed all-region first team honors and NCAA Division III All-America Honorable Mention. An all-around athlete, Mrakovich also played for the women's basketball team. She was a member of the 1983-84 team that won the PSAC Championship and played in the NCAA Division II Tournament.
After graduating with a bachelor's degree in education, Mrakovich served as an assistant coach at Millersville from 1987-88 and then went on to be the head coach at Middletown High School from 1989- 1992.
Mrakovich is now the owner and director of Canine Companions Sports center and works as a professional dog trainer. She resides in Bainbridge, Pa with her husband, Jeffrey and her son, Bryce.
