Kelly Fitzgerald carried a hot bat through seven games this week for the Marauders. The catcher was 2-for-3 and drilled a 3-run home run in a 6-3 victory over West Virginia Wesleyan on Friday night. On Saturday night, the freshman went a perfect 4-for-4 with three more RBIs in a 9-2 win over Charleston (W.Va.). On Sunday against Seton Hill, she was 2-for-4 with an RBI, while recording two fielding assists (caught stealing and picked off a runner at first). Fitzgerald recorded at least one hit in all seven games this week and is carrying an 8-game hitting streak. In a five game trip to Virginia this weekend, Fitzgerald was 9-for-14 (.643) with five runs scored and nine RBIs. Fitzgerald did not strike out in 22 at-bats this week.
