Freshman quarterback Connor Casey was outstanding in his collegiate debut, completing 30-of-43 passes for 313 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions while playing against Bloomsburg, the No. 7 team in Division II. Casey was the first true freshman to start at quarterback since 2002, the first to complete 30 passes and recorded the most passing yards ever by a true freshman. He also was the first QB to throw for over 300 yards since 2010, and he led the team in rushing.
