Millersville

Goalkeeper Lauren Sotzin helped the Millersville field hockey team to two wins over nationally-ranked teams and its first 2-0 start since 1985. In the season opener, she blanked No. 10 Bentley for her first career shutout. She denied a penalty stroke when the game was still within reach for Bentley. She finished with three saves. The following day, Sotzin was instrumental in the upset of No. 3 UMass Lowell. Sotzin stopped five shots while allowing just one goal. She also made a key save in the overtime period, keeping Millersville's chances alive. It was Millersville's first win over UMass Lowell since 1999. All four of Sotzin's career starts have come against nationally-ranked teams, and she owns a 3-1 record.
