Shane Smith, a red-shirt freshman on the wrestling team, posted a 4-1 record on his way to a runner-up finish at 174 pounds at the Mat Town Open Saturday. Smith recorded three falls in the open and pinned 17th-ranked Chase Litton of West Virginia in 1:56.
