Millersville, Pa. – The Millersville Marauders will sport a streamlined look in 2015-16 following several changes to the athletics logo family within the University's Identity Guidelines.
Most notably, the Marauder icon, which was instituted in 2010, will no longer be used and a new alternate mark has been added. Most notably, the Marauder icon, which was instituted in 2010, will no longer be used and a new alternate mark has been created, which pays homage to the "Ville" logo that represented Millersville Athletics for decades. The new Ville Mark retains the arch and gold color of the original but is refreshed with the Berkeley Old Style typeface and strong outlines for a classic, yet bold presentation.

"The 'Ville' has long been a part of the Millersville identity," said director of athletic communications
Ethan Hulsey. "Alumni relate to the word and to the image. It is who we are. We felt it was important to bring that back but within the context of our present identity. The new alternate mark is timeless and makes a bold statement."
The Spirit Mark will remain the primary representation of the Millersville Marauders and the main identifying device for athletics. The Spirit Mark has recently received an update with crisper lines, a rounded hilt, a sharper blade and increased weight of the white accents.

Athletics will continue to utilize the Marauders Word Mark developed in 2010, but it has also been subtly adjusted. The bulky gold trim around "Marauders" has been streamlined to proportionately match the gold trim of the Spirit Mark and enhance readability.

"The Spirit Mark has incredible brand recognition and the Marauders Word Mark has become a favorite of our athletes and fans," said Hulsey. "We look forward to fans enjoying the revamped look and wearing 'Ville' across their shirts and hats again."
