Allendale, Mich. – Erin Madison finished in second-place in heat two of the 400-meter hurdles preliminaries on Thursday night at the NCAA Championships as her time of 1:00.80 automatically qualified her to the finals on Saturday.
Madison had an outstanding start out of the blocks and kept within striking distance with top overall finisher Sharon Kwarula. The West Texas A&M product crossed the finish line first in heat two with the fastest overall time of 59.97. Madison will be seeded eighth in Saturday's 400-meter hurdles finals that are scheduled for 4:10 p.m.
Kiara Allen competed in the 100-meter preliminaries and finished seventh in heat two, but her time of 12.05 was not enough to qualify her for Saturday's finals. Allen finished off a memorable outdoor season in which garnered All-PSAC finishes in the Outdoor PSAC Championships in both the 100-meters (first) and the 200-meters (third). The Central Dauphin product also had an outstanding indoor season that was capped off by an eighth-place, All-American finish in the 60-meter dash.
The Millersville athletic communication office will live tweet both Erin Madison and Amanda Myers finishes as they compete in their respective finals on Saturday. Myers is seeded 19th and is scheduled to compete in the javelin throw at approximately 11 a.m.
