Lock Haven, Pa. - Carly Gallagher was named PSAC East Athlete of the Week for women's basketball after she averaged 21.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and four assists per game in a pair of PSAC East victories. This is the first Player of the Week honor for women's basketball this season.

In Millersville's 69-51 win in Pucillo against Mansfield, the fifth-year senior filled up the stat sheet with 18 points, eight rebounds, four assists, four steals, and a block in 31 minutes of action. She was 8-of-15 from the field including 2-for-3 from behind the arc.

The East Stroudsburg, Pa., native followed that up with 25 points in the Marauders' 71-58 victory at Kutztown, 20 of which came in the second half. The 5-9 guard also registered nine rebounds, four assists and one steal while playing 34 minutes against the Golden Bears.

The East Stroudsburg South product last received a weekly honor during her redshirt-freshman season when she was named PSAC East Freshman of the Week on Jan. 9, 2012.

Gallagher is inching ever closer to the 1,000-point mark and now finds herself 15 points away from reaching the milestone. She will most likely reach 1,000 points on the road as Millersville's next two games are at Slippery Rock and Edinboro on Dec. 16 and 17, respectively. Both contests are set to tip at 5:30 p.m.
