More Marauders PSAC Championship Bound

Lewisburg, Pa. – The Millersville men's and women's track team split up and sent athletes to two meets this weekend, the Bison Open at Bucknell, and the Coach I Open at nearby Franklin & Marshall. Seven more Marauders qualified for Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Indoor Championships throughout these two meets Saturday afternoon.
At the Bison Open, junior Brittany Arnold ran a 5,000-meter PSAC qualifying time of 19.22.71. Freshman Sarah Mulvey, who placed fifth in section three of runners in the 800-meter run, landed a conference qualifying time of 2:25.81.
Freshman Michelle Blum earned third in her heat of the one mile run with a time of 5:35.08. Sophomore Whitney Savoy placed third in flight one of the triple jump with a distance of 10.11 meters.
On the men's side at the Bison Open, junior Derrick Bass placed second in the 60-meter dash preliminary round with a PSAC qualifying time of 7.22 seconds. In section one of the finals in the 60, sophomore Anthony Adamski garnered second place with an impressive mark of 7.18 seconds. He was followed by freshman Jeff Robinson, who placed sixth with a time of 7.25 seconds. Adamski and Robinson both qualified for the PSAC championships on the first day of the open.
In the second section of runners for the 60, sophomore Keith Ogden placed fourth with a time of 7.12 seconds. He also qualified for the conference championships on day one of the open. In section one of the 200-meter dash, Ogden placed second in 22.94 seconds, landing him a PSAC qualifying mark.
Adamski also qualified for PSACs in the 200, earning second place in section two with a time of 22.88 seconds. Robinson came in a close third, in 22.98 seconds.
In section three for the one mile, freshman Seth Hibbs placed third, and qualified for PSACs with a time 4:24.97. Freshman Chris Wallace won his flight of the triple jump with a PSAC qualifying distance of 13.08 meters. Stephen Boyd placed seventh in his flight with a 13.00 meter jump, landing a spot at the conference championships as well.
At the Coach I Open, junior Heather Miller qualified for PSACs in the weight throw with a first place distance of 12.45 meters. Sophomore Grace Tancredi placed second with a distance of 12.33 meters. On the pole vault, senior Kim Stokes cleared a height of 2.97 meters to qualify for the PSAC championships.
Peter Hafer and Dakota Snell placed first and third, respectively, in the men's weight throw. Hafer's distance of 13.65 meters missed the PSAC mark by .04 meters. In the shot put, Hafter earned second place with a distance of .31 meters, while Snell placed third with a distance of .30 meters.
The track and field team returns to action Feb. 5, when it travels to New York City to compete in the New Balance Games.
